Bowman says short week had 'huge effect' on his body Thursday night

The 49ers' defense looked gassed.

NaVorro Bowman admitted that was reality.

After San Francisco shut down the Seattle Seahawks' offense in Sunday's 12-9 loss, the 49ers were tasked with returning to Levi's Stadium on a short week of rest and battling with another division foe, the Los Angeles Rams.

Following a Sunday in which the 49ers stopped almost everything, Bowman and Co. couldn't stop anything in the team's 41-39 loss to the Rams.

Did the short week of rest have an impact on the 49ers' level of fatigue?

"I think it had a huge effect on my body, personally," Bowman said. "You know, I have done everything to get my body as close to ready for this game as possible but you know, we signed up for this and the schedule says we have to play these games. There's no way I felt the way I felt the way on Sunday today."

San Francisco was without starting linebacker Reuben Foster and starting safety Eric Reid, and along the way on Thursday night, the 49ers lost safety Jaquiski Tartt and linebacker Brock Croyle to concussions. While Bowman made it through all four quarters, the eighth-year veteran was clearly worse for the wear after the game, and he wasn't afraid to admit it.
